Kitesurf Australia - an historical look from 2007 to Now!

As we make the big move from the little blue shop on the Noosa River to our new Main Road, even brighter blue shop front, we have taken the time to reflect on the eight (8) years since 2007, when the Tarr family took over the iconic Kitesurf Australia shop.

The shop was established by well known local Chris De Aboitiz (Keahi's dad) back in 2001 after the initial introduction of the kiteschool in 1999. Now known as Adventure Sports Kitesurf Australia, the shop has weathered local floods, the wettest summer in decades, the GFC and so much more.

We just wanted to share some of the history in a photo gallery we have put together. Check out a few blasts from the past including the Coolum Kite Festival, trips to Fiji, the introduction of SUP, old logos on old cars, new vehicles, shop renovations and insights into our family as Liam has grown up, Simon has finished school to take on the family business and new, exciting staff have joined in.

As we reflected on the past, we were reminded of the heart and soul of why we do what we do. The kitesurfing community and now the SUP and Skate community are what makes doing business, more like just having fun. Thanks to everyone who has helped us along the way. Take a look at the photos, you might even see one of yourself.

Join us on the 17th June for our first day at 136 Eumundi Rd, take a look around and join in our excitement. A proper 'shop' warming will be held later in June or early July, so stay tuned for details. Final day of trading at Gympie Tce will be next Saturday the 13th June.

Check out the photos here.
