Gap Year Update
George and Fiona are back from their winter escape and ready to get out on the water locally.
While away, they spent plenty of time in warmer waters, winging, kite foiling and kitesurfing (minus the waves of course). As soon as the nights hit a consistent 12 degrees, they headed back south to chase some surf.
They returned to find a few Duotone demo kites ready to go and more are coming in any day now. The new Duotone Dlab Rebel has been exceptional. For anyone looking for the ultimate jumping kite, George can highly recommend this new Rebel. It’s been years since we’ve been this excited about the Rebel model from Duotone.
The kite has unbelievable lift, getting George over the 10mtr mark on an average wind day. He can’t wait to get it out in some really high wind. In the meantime, you are welcome to give us a call to organise a chance to try it out.
The new Dice SLS arrived at the same time. We could only get our hands on a 9mtr, which is neither Fiona’s light wind kite nor George’s go to high wind option, but it has proven to be a nice evolution. The Dice designer resigned from Duotone a few seasons back, so this is an all-new Dice SLS and we were concerned the kite both Fiona and George still love might have suffered too much of a change… Thankfully this isn’t the case. It’s delivered everything they’ve come to expect from the Dice, but more.
Smooth turning. Better bottom end without losing top end wind performance and lighter bar feel. They can’t wait to get all the demo sizes in and out on the water.
The #grownupgapyear is still in motion, but you’ll likely see Fiona and George out on the local waters over the coming months. They will be travelling on and off, with a rendezvous to catch up with some locals in N.S.W, in the not too distance future. Plus, Fiona has some author engagements coming up which will take them out of town.
The shop is open by appointment with Simon helping customers, when necessary, but safe to say, if Noosa is expecting epic wind, Fiona and George will be here. George is teaching, when the weather permits, but availability is limited.
There will be a housewarming, season opener once all the demo gear is here, so keep an eye on social media and make sure you update any email changes or mobile phone details.
